First thing first. There are up to 4 valve adjustments on an LCN door closer.
LCN Closer Adjustment 1: Back Check
This controls the speed of the door in the last few inches before the door is in the full open position.
LCN Closer Adjustment 2: The Closing Speed Adjustment Valve
This controls the speed of the door as it closes.
LCN Closer Adjustment 3: Latch Speed
This controls the speed of the door in the last few inches before the door is in the full closed position.
LCN Closer Adjustment 4: Delay Speed
This adjusts the time delay the door remains open, before it begins to close. This is a great adjustment for high traffic doors.
LCN 60 Second Adjustment Tips!
1. Only adjust the valves 1/8 of a turn at a time.
2. Never fully close or fully open the adjustment valves, as it will cause the door closer to hydraulic fluid and damage it.
3. If you are still unsure contact the manufacturer LCN.
4. A typical closing time for a door open at a 90 degree full open position is 5 to 7 seconds, evenly divided between the main closing speed and the latch speed.
And there you have it folks! These are the main valve adjustments on LCN door closers. Adjust accordingly and you will have your LCN door closer up and running in no time!
